| An essential tool in the mould
making process, as anyone who pours significant amounts of
silicone or polyurethane knows, is a vacuum. A vacuum chamber
pulls the air out of the rubber once it has been mixed
ensuring worry-free pours and extending the library life of
the rubber mould. Skycon manufactures it's own vacuum chamber
suitable for holding a 5-gallon (20 litre) pail and with a
pump capable of pulling down to 29 inches of mercury. This is
essential to completely de-air the rubber.
